Collaborative and goal-directed treatment
I work individually with adults who are seeking to improve their lives by: (1) decreasing the frequency or intensity of depressive or anxiety symptoms; (2) recognizing problems before they reach a crisis stage; (3) maximizing work, school, or home functioning, (4) enhancing social relationships; (5) managing stressors and regulating emotions; (6) breaking unhealthy or negative behavior and thought cycles; and (7) experimenting with new health behaviors in a safe and effective manner.
I base my treatment on several key principles: (1) evidence-based interventions, e.g., cognitive behavior therapy; (2) measurement based care to assess progress; (3) goal attainment as a measure of success; (4) time-effective treatment; and (5) relapse prevention strategies to maintain improvements.
